AI-Driven Counter Fraud System

Overview
Intended purpose
Overview — The AI-Driven Counter Fraud System aims to detect and prevent fraud and error within Social Security Scotland's benefit lifecycle using AI technologies. It aims to increase efficiency by reducing manual tasks, improving detection speed and lowering false positives, while supporting fairness and accuracy in decision-making.
How it is used — The system operates across a wide range of social-security processes, including applications, changes of circumstances and interventions, ingesting structured data, semi-structured forms and unstructured content such as documents and call recordings. It functions within operational fraud-investigation and intelligence workflows, supporting fraud intelligence, investigation, analysts and case managers, through the reactive and proactive identification of potential fraud and error cases and enriched, AI-driven investigative insights. It also aims to reduce operational costs and improve staff experience by streamlining these processes.
